Hip-Hop

I haven't done a Hip-Hop show in a long time, and with the recent death of Malik B from the Roots and Ty, I think it's long overdue. So this session of Bridging the Gap is going to be a collection of favorites, classics and Jazz-influenced tracks.

I'm been on a Hip-Hop kick the last few days. So the majority of this session of Bridging the Gap is going to be a collection of Jazz influenced Hip-Hop, and a few artists that are currently trending.

Sometimes the most powerful form of protest is music. In light of protests here in Hawaii, as well in places like Hong Kong, Puerto Rico and generally all over our tumultuous world, we'll be taking a look at protest in song - spanning genres, generations and social causes.

Tonight I'm trying something a little diffrent and mixing a lot of Hip-Hop into the show.  But I'm leaving out all of the selections that are aggressive, misogynistic, or violent.  It'll be fun and upbeat in the 1st hour, and mellow and Jazzy in the 2nd.
