On Helping Hand this week it’s Hawaii Marine Animal Response, the largest local nonprofit marine species conservation and response organization. They do things like save injured or imperiled animals, conduct species management and recovery, and inform and engage the public. These first-responders to vulnerable and beloved area critters are often seen on beaches trying to protect resting Hawaiian monk seals.

Among the most successful recording artists of all time, the legendary Dionne Warwick is back in Honolulu through Sunday at the Blue Note Hawaii. A performer who has spanned generations and mediums, last night she generously invited HPR to follow-up an advance phone interview by joining her in her dressing room after the first of four area concerts.
