Updated: 10/29/2020, 1:15 p.m. The Hawaii Department of Health reported 2 deaths and 77 new COVID-19 cases today. The latest count brings the total number of COVID cases during the pandemic to 14,911. The death toll now stands at 215.

The state Department of Health today reported no deaths and 62 new COVID-19 cases. The count for Lanai, which is seeing an outbreak that has locked down the island, increased by 7 cases to 94 in total.

Updated: 10/26/2020, 12:15 p.m. Gov. David Ige has approved a stay-at-home order and travel restrictions on Lanai beginning at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday. The order would require travelers and visitors to remain at home or in their lodgings except for essential reasons such as grocery shopping.

The Hawaii Department of Health today reported 3 deaths and 131 new COVID-19 cases. It's the second day running that the state's case count have reached three digits, driven in part by the outbreak on Lanai.

The latest count brings the total number of COVID cases during the pandemic to 14,464. The death toll rose to 209.

Updated: 10/22/2020, 12:08 p.m. The Hawaii Department of Health today reported 3 deaths and 102 new COVID-19 cases. The new infections return the state's case count to three-digit territory.

The Hawaii Department of Health today reported 14 deaths and 78 new COVID-19 cases. The state said 10 of the deaths were reported as a result of updated information from Hawaii Island nursing homes. They occurred from mid-September to early October. Four more recent deaths occurred on Oahu.

The state Department of Health today reported 1 death and 89 new COVID-19 cases. The latest case count represents the second day running of daily infections in the double digits. The number brings the statewide total of coronavirus cases to 13,853. The death toll rose to 185.

David Ige has tentatively agreed to let Hawaii Island impose a second test on arriving tourists following a pre-flight test for COVID-19, but he has not yet signed off completely, his office said today. This comes as the state health department reports two more deaths and 73 new cases of the virus.

The Hawaii Department of Health today reported two new deaths from COVID-19 and 155 new cases. The latest statewide case count brought the total number of infections to 13,300 since the pandemic began. Deaths total 166.

The Hawaii Department of Health today reported one new death from COVID-19 and 101 new cases. The latest statewide case count brought the total number of infections to 13,146 since the pandemic began. Deaths total 164. 

There have now been 11,788 cases on Oahu (86 new cases), 866 on Hawaii Island (14 new cases), 397 for Maui County (1 new case), and 59 on Kauai County (no new cases). Those diagnosed out of state stood at 36.

The Hawaii Department of Health today reported three deaths from COVID-19 and 87 new cases. The latest statewide case count brought the total number of infections to 12,601 since the pandemic began. Deaths total 142. 

There have now been 11,365 cases on Oahu (70 new cases), 752 on Hawaii Island (16 new cases), 391 for Maui County (no new cases), and 59 on Kauai County (no new cases). Those diagnosed out of state climbed to 34. One case from Honolulu was removed from the count due to updated information.

Updated: 10/1/2020, 1:23 p.m. Hawaii Lt. Gov. Josh Green pushed back today on the idea of a second or third test for tourists who are hoping to avoid quarantine when they visit Hawaii through the state's COVID-19 pre-travel testing program.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump planned to announce Monday that the federal government will begin distributing millions of rapid coronavirus tests to states this week and urging governors to use them to reopen schools for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The Hawaii Department of Health today reported no new deaths from COVID-19 and 90 new cases, all on Oahu. The latest infection numbers is the second day running of double-digit case counts and the first time in several days that there have been on deaths reported. 

Updated: 9/27/2020, 4:11 p.m. The state Department of Public Safety reported 10 inmates tested positive for COVID-19 following another round of testing at the Oahu Community Correctional Center. The results come just a day after the department said the outbreak was "under control." 

Updated: 9/27/2020, 12:14 p.m. The Hawaii Department of Health today reported 1 new death from COVID-19 and 98 new cases statewide. The latest infection numbers returned the state to double-digit case counts after shooting to triple digits yesterday. Reported infections generally have been declining, however.

The management of the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home where 26 veterans have died from COVID-19 is being replaced. Avalon Health Care Group will step aside and the East Hawaii Region of the Hawaii Health Systems Corp. will take over.
