New Zealand’s Fruit Fly Blues

  The British Union Jack has been part of the Hawaiian flag for nearly two hundred years. And for well over a century, it’s been part of New Zealand’s flag as well. But that may be on its way to changing. HPR’s Bill Dorman explains in today’s Asia Minute.

The voyaging canoe Hōkūle‘a recently spent time in Golden Bay, off the coast of South Island in New Zealand. That’s where they paid a special visit to a recently discovered artifact, an ancient canoe scientists believe is 600 years old. HPR’s Molly Solomon spoke with Hōkūle‘a navigator Kalepa Baybayan, as part of our ongoing series Hōkūle‘a: Voyage of Aloha.
