China’s Internet Population Growing

China's internet use is growing at a rate of 75% over the past four years.

If you’re planning to go online at some point today, you’ll have a lot of company. The latest figures show more than 80% of Americans use the internet. That’s nearly double the rate in China—but China’s figures are growing. HPR’s Bill Dorman has more in today’s Asia Minute.

Prime Season for Asia Pacific Military Drills

More than 27,000 U.S. and Australian forces are taking part in military training exercises for the next two and a half weeks. Most of the drills are off the coast of Australia—but the Navy says some activities will take place in Hawaii. To the north and west, Russia is currently holding much larger military exercises.
